TRENDnet Hive Adds Mesh and Seamless Roaming Support for WiFi Access Points

TORRANCE, Calif. – Sept. 17, 2025 - TRENDnet® (www.TRENDnet.com), a global leader and award-winning provider of reliable networking solutions for IT, surveillance, transportation, and power distribution, has enhanced its TRENDnet Hive™ remote cloud network management platform with support for mesh connectivity on select WiFi 6 access points (APs).

Mesh support will be available on two TRENDnet WiFi 6 access points: the AX3000 Dual Band WiFi 6 PoE+ Access Point (TEW-923DAP), and the AX5400 Dual Band WiFi 6 PoE+ Access Point (TEW-925DAP). With mesh support, these APs will be able to deliver enhanced reliability with uninterrupted WiFi connectivity in a wider coverage area.

By bridging multiple TRENDnet APs together to form a seamless roaming network, mesh support ensures continuous connectivity. In the event an AP loses connection, mesh technology automatically reconfigures and reestablishes the connection to the next most optimal AP, maintaining consistent and constant network operation. Additionally, the new mesh feature will support a wired backhaul, providing a more stable and consistent connection between APs and client devices. If an Ethernet cable is detected, TRENDnet Hive will automatically enable the wired backhaul for improved network performance.

“With this upgrade, TRENDnet Hive serves as a cloud-based WLAN hardware controller, one that can deliver superior wireless coverage with a stronger signal and faster performance, and be utilized across multiple locations remotely,” said Evan Davis, senior manager of solutions engineering at TRENDnet. “The wireless mesh network leverages dynamic routing and self-healing capabilities, ensuring both robust network redundancy and continuous performance, even in the event of disruptions.”

New purchases of TRENDnet Hive compatible products come with a one-year free subscription. A Pro Add-On can be purchased to add support for multiple users and tenants, and location tracking. At the end of last year, TRENDnet announced remote cloud management support for two of its industrial managed switches, and by May 2025, all core industrial managed network switches were upgraded. Users will need to update their firmware to take advantage of the latest TRENDnet Hive features.

TRENDnet Hive is compatible with a broad range of TRENDnet networking solutions, including select industrial switches, web smart switches, indoor and outdoor access points, a PDU, and routers.
